2 Quality Installations in Tight Spaces

Our installation team showcase how Safetech’s expertise and talent can overcome the greatest of challenges.

Both the patient transport lift at the Epworth Hospital and this Dock Hoist at Bexley North presented very challenging site conditions and accessibility restrictions.

Tight corridors and small openings made installation difficult for both projects. But through the work of our talented Installation Engineers and our on-site techs, we were able to come up with solutions to get the jobs done efficiently.

Epworth Hospital Patient Lift

For the Epworth Hospital patient lift, a crane was used to get the lift close to the opening, but then we used a custom Gorbel monorail system to slide the platform into place.

Ergonomics were considered to ensure a smooth installation without risk of injury to the team.

Bexley North Goods Hoist

Bexley North was a unique challenge. The narrow street and small doorway meant only smaller vehicles and forklifts could be used during the install, so larger cranes could not be used to remove the existing Dock Hoist or insert the new Safetech Hoist.

To overcome this, the existing table was cut down into manageable pieces for removal. For the new replacement, our skilled Engineers designed a platform that consists of 3 manageable pieces, that can be assembled in position without compromising its load capacity or structural integrity.

Toyotas new Parts and Accessories Facility has been fitted with the market leading Safetech Dock Leveller and Pit Bull vehicle restraints.

This undercover area provides a smooth and efficient loading zone for the international auto maker. The simple and intuitive controls, as well as clear traffic light indicators and signage, ensure a safe and stable working environment for the facility staff.

The semi-protected loading bay demonstrates yet another example of the quality and durability of all Safetech products.

Custom dock heights are no challenge for Safetech

Gundagai Meats in southern New South Wales had an unusual problem with their current dock loading solution, which Safetech were more than capable of solving. Standard docks are usually built to work with a standard truck type, providing a narrow range of dock loading heights. But Gundagai Meats have a wide range of trucks coming in to load produce, both large and small.

The added complication of needing a climate controlled environment to protect the produce, as well as restraining vehicles to prevent truck creep was also important.

So, careful planning was required.

Enter the 2x custom step down 714h Dock Levellers, fitted with the Pit Bull vehicle restraint and the Safetech Inflatable Dock Shelters.

The Dock Levellers were made to service truck beds from 1000mm to 1600mm, which is well outside our standard Dock Leveller range. Sporting the optional galvanised finish, they were then mounted on our free-standing dock frame.

Controlling the Docks is intuitive, using the custom IDD panels from outside the docking bay.

Safetech Docks at Reckitt Benckiser’s new Oakdale Home.

Reckitt Benckiser have moved into their new distribution centre at Horsley Park in Oakdale NSW.

An integral part of these new facilities are the 10 new Dock Levellers, S3200 Snap Back Shelters, Aero Tech Fans with Swing Arm Lights, as well as some In Ground Wheel Chocks and SL80 PitBulls with Master Control Panels that have recently been installed in partnership with the highly regarded building company Qanstruct.

These Safetech product solutions provide Reckitt Benckiser with the highest quality, climate controlled loading dock expected of the British multinational consumer goods company.

The centre will facilitate the distribution of Reckitt Benckiser’s products Nationwide, staffed by an estimated 150 employees. The 35,482m2 facility will include a 3,580m2 temperature controlled store, a 7,360m2 dangerous goods store, 800m2 work and re-work areas and 800m2 of office spaces.
