Pit Requirements
Rail vehicle lifts
Rail lifts require a small pit to be installed. Caissons(small hole for the extra cylinder depth) are the only elements that needs a deeper hole.
Scissor lifts
Scissor lifts allow a smaller shaft to be built, but require a much deeper pit. The depth depends on the amount of vertical travel and scissor-type(single double etc)
Shaft Requirements
Getting Safetech involved early in the design process is important to ensure you avoid unnecessary design changes to your building.
The most common culprit to this is inadequate preparation of the lift shaft.
Rail type lifts require significant structural support to guarantee the integrity of your building and good working condition of the lift.
Scissor lifts do not have the same shaft wall requirements, but in addition to the deeper pit, require stronger/deeper footings to support the entire weight of the machine.
With Safetechs unique design, our door openings can be widened by removing the Door Openings / Nibs found in standard CAD blocks.
Side by Side lifts
- Throughput! - This is one of the most important factors for managing street level vehicle traffic. For commercial tenants, halving your wait time will get you off the street or out the door quickly.
- Streamlined designs - Many lift designs have shared elements to minimise the overall footprint. Sharing a strong single mast wall, shared electronics and controllers. Door openings can be designed in a particular way if we are involved in the design process early on.
Power Units
Often forgotten in vehicle lift design the remote power unit location and configuration needs to be considered alongside other finishes and design considerations.
Plant Room RPU
These units are usually hidden away from public or everyday sight in their own dedicated room.
Built for ventilation, ease of access for maintenance and cost.
Remote Power Cabinet
Our premium cabinet has been designed to fit into the decor of the parking space.
Popular in private residences or on sites with no dedicated service room.
This unit features a submerged pump in an enclosed housing that helps reduce noise.
Replacing Existing Vehicle Lifts
Our country is full of cheap imported vehicle lifts that have caused significant grief and expense for their customers.
Our AutoMate vehicle lift has been specifically engineered to fit in the most common lift shaft sizes. We can reach up to 4 levels, our componentry has been designed to fit within existing conduits and the door openings can be adjusted to suit your current design. In some cases, you can gain extra width with our integrated door solutions.

Speed & Transit Times
Travel Times vs Journey Times
When assessing the speed of your lift to get cars off the street as quickly as possible, don't be fooled!
Travel times, a common metric in industrial lifting, refers to the vertical movement of the lift only.
Journey times start from the moment you approach the lift, to the time you drive off and are clear for the next user. This metric is the most important to consider when configuring your solution.
Use our Journey time calculator to measure the average speed of Safetech Lifts vs any competition.
Lift travel speed
Safetech provides a range of hydraulic power options to allow 6, 9 & 12 m/minute as standard.
Door speeds
Surprisingly, the biggest time saver in overall traversal time is the opening and closing speed of your doors.
As seen in the time-saving calculator, you can save up to 25% more time on each trip with our Durafast High Speed Doors.
