If you’re moving Freight and Personnel between floor levels, Safetech can provide you with a solution to suit your requirements.

Dependant on the site and customer requirements the equipment and its design standards will differ. If you have an application where you wish to transport goods only, or with a trained ‘Attendant’ to ride along with the goods then you require a Goods Hoist.

An application suitable for transporting both goods and personnel will call for a Goods and Personal Hoist.

Goods Hoists

A goods hoist provides users with a simple solution to transfer goods between different heights and floor levels.
STS hoists come with simple to use ‘elevator type’ controls.

Each site should be assessed for alternate personal access.  If the site has existing personal lifts or other access (stairs) a goods only hoist may be applicable.

Goods hoists can be installed in an existing building shaft or as a freestanding unit, which could be installed internal or externally to the building.

Goods hoists are available with multiple door configurations, but doors at 90 degrees should be avoided for ease of use.

No Pit Required

The Safetech designed hoist allows access at the lower level without the requirement to recess a pit into the floor.  Ideal for installations to existing buildings, and also saves the added expense of this civil works.

Safetech Goods Hoists are designed to be one of the following:

• AS1418.8 Non-attended Goods only Hoist
• AS1418.8 Attended Goods Hoist
• AS1418.8 Attended Goods Hoist with Car Doors

The hoist design will vary dependant on your site access. Items including (but not limited to) control location and setup, communication and emergency egress have to be considered in the attended applications.
Except where noted, all subsequent models share features from inferior designs.

AS1418.8 Non-attended Hoist

• Lift-style buttons
• VSD soft-start/stop
• Control-locked roller shutters (motor-closed but not locked)
• Doors “dead-man” close, touch-to-open buttons

AS1418.8 Attended Hoist

• Touch-to-open/close door buttons
• Light curtains in front of landing doors, doors “bounce” open upon light curtain break whilst closing, light curtains do not affect doors opening
• Light curtains guarding all car openings, car will cease motion upon light curtain break, car will not drive unless item breaking curtain is removed
• In-car controls w/ integrated autodial emergency phone, phone has independent battery backing
• Car ceiling w/ integrated down lighting, half-lighting in event of power failure
• Battery-backed lowering
• 1200mm-high stainless steel panelling on car walls

AS1418.8 Attended Hoist w/ Car Doors

• Car equipped with internal doors guarded by light curtains

Goods and Personnel Lifts

For applications of mixed use the STS Goods and Personnel Lifts allow easy transportation for servicing up to 4 levels.  For commercial, industrial and private use.

AS1735.3 Electro-hydraulic Lift

• Landing doors fitted with door locks
• Hard-wired “Door Lock Valve” offers redundancy, valve hard-wired to door locking feedback, mandated by Australian Standards
• Heavy duty buffered maintenance chocks, chocks capable of arresting fully-loaded car descending at full speed, chock position sensed by limit, hoist will not drive in “ON” unless chocks are fully retracted
• Hoist tested to twice working pressure during commissioning, hoist is tested by “topping out” the cylinder and increasing pressure
• Hoist equipped with secondary “jack-up” chocks in case on-site pressure testing is required to guard against catastrophic failure
