Scissor Lift Solves Materials Handling Issue for Woodworking Industry
March 30, 2017
Case Study
Industry: Woodworking
Product: Scissor Lift
Problem
Homag need to use scissor lifts with their products. Previously they have used European and Chinese tables but problems with quality, cost and reliability have caused equipment failures and customer disatisfaction.
Using Safetech scissor lifts has allowed homag to have a custom, durable product that is designed for their products. The Tandem Scissor lift table holds a stack of material and by indexing up it can feed the CNC machines vacuum feeder with material for cutting.
Solution
- A stack of material is placed on the scissor lifts load bearers by fork lift. At the control panel of the CNC machine the operator can activate the scissor to lift the stack
- Once the stack of material reaches a load sensor it will automatically stop. The CNC machine will then draw a sheet from the top of stack with a vacuum head feeder.
- This operation is programmed to operate automatically reducing the need for individual sheets to be loaded into the CNC machine manually.
- This Tandem scissor lift table is wired direct to a woodworking CNC machine through a programmed PLC.
The Tandem scissor lift table is just one of the many different styles of scissor lift tables that Safetech has designed to solve material handling problems for the modern industry.
