Case Study
Industry: Airline Catering
Product: Scissor Lift
Problem
Inflight Logistic Services are part of the Gate Gourmet group and provide catering services to airlines at all Australian airports.
At Brisbane and Melbourne airports the transfer of food trolleys from the kitchens to the ground transport vehicles was slow, inefficient and potentially dangerous to workers. No off the shelf product suitable so STS were approached to developed a customised solution that was both productive and safe.
Solution
Safetech engineers developed a custom solution with four specially designed lift tables and access ramps to interfaced between the kitchens and ground transport vehicles.
The result was much quicker and safer loading of the transport trucks. This created productivity and safety gains for InFlight and the airlines. It also reduced the amount of time that the food was exposed to cooling temperatures thus helping to create a fresher food product for the airlines customers.
