Case Study

Industry:  Food Processing
Product:  Scissor Lift

Problem

A major Australian meat processor. Their basic business requires heavy manual work cutting and packing meat for super markets. This creates a need to protect workers whilst still increasing productivity.

Lifting pallets of goods from ground floor to 1st floor. There was no elevator and loads of up to 2 tonne needed to be moved between floors. An efficient, cost effective solution was required.

No alternatives existed on site and it was a new building.

Solution

Safetch ASD2-3500 double scissor hydraulic scissor table

3,500mm vertical travel

3,250 x 1,700mm platform.

Platform supplied with1,800mm high mesh fences on 3 sides with guard locked boom gates on loading side. Additionally durable galvanised plate fixed to the surface and loading edge of platform. Installation was simple.

Two pallets are loaded onto platform by forklift at ground level, the platform is raised to first floor via a new opening in upper floor. An enclosed shaft was installed as well as guard locked gates at each level. At upper level the pallets are removed by hand pallet truck eliminating the need for a fork lift at the upper level.

Benefits

  • Rapid movement of pallets between floors
  • Eliminates significant manual labour
  • Safe and easy to operate
