Safetech's fully automatic stretch tape wrapping system provides a real alternative to conventional stretch film for high-speed pallet wrapping. For many industries stretch tape has now become a preferred option for pallet stabilisation when compared with conventional stretch film.

The addition of the automatic wrapper to Safetech's established Semi Automatic Stretch Tape Wrapper range offers choice for companies with high volume pallet wrapping requirements.

Stretch tape is ideal for most pallet containment needs. Customers who require strong load holding capacity with ventilation to preserve perishable goods or must eliminate carton-damaging condensation that occurs underneath film particularly favour it.

For other companies it is the enormous saving in waste plastic - up to 90% by volume - that motivates the change to stretch tape.

Products that require cooling can now be stabilised before being placed in refrigeration thus eliminating both product loss and multiple handling.

Other benefits include a unique way to lock loads onto the pallet without creating plastic tags that hinder pallet handling at automated distribution centres

The Automatic Stretch Tape Wrapper has been successfully installed into high-speed production lines in major Australian Dairy Food companies. Seamless integration with existing palletising system's produce throughput rates of 60 pallets per hour.

How does the system work?

1. Receive an unrestrained palletised load.
2. Identify which of the predetermined load configurations is required.
3. Select the appropriate pattern to apply.
4. Attach the tape to the pallet.
5. Apply that pattern.
6. Lock off the tape to secure the load.
7. Detach the tape from the pallet.
8. Repeat the cycle as each fully contained load is removed from the wrapping cell.

The system is fully automatic and excludes any form of human interaction with the wrapping process.

Safety

Typically systems are supplied to category 4 protection levels including full safety fencing and light curtains.

Limitations

If the palletised product requires complete insulation from dust, water or sunlight then stretch tape is not suitable.
