Lifting Attachments (End effectors / Hoists )  Information:

A complete overhead handling solution requires the combination of a support and movement structure (e.g.crane), lifting device (e.g. hoist) and appropriate lifting attachment. Lifting attachments are devices or tools connected to or suspended from the end of a lifting device.

Lifting devices include chain blocks, powered hoists, vacuum lifts or Intelligent lifting devices (IADs…see G-Force).

End effectors are the piece of equipment that connects the lifting device to the product that is being handled. They can be as simple as a hook attachment or as complicated as a specially designed set of vacuum cups or mechanical grippers. The size, shape, texture and weight of the product to be lifted usually determines how complex the attachment will be.
